HighPoint Health System Names Business Development Director

J.D. Kern has been named Business Development Director at HighPoint Health System, according to Mary Jo Lewis, Chief Executive Officer of the health system.   

“In this new role, J.D. will be responsible for helping to promote the health system’s services to physician practices within our service area, to recruit new physicians to the health system as part of our strategic plan, and to also serve as a liaison to physicians on the HighPoint medical staff,” said Lewis.  “With nearly 20 years of experience working in the health care industry, specifically in the areas of business development, physician relations and sales, J.D. brings a great amount of skill and experience to this new position at HighPoint.”

Kern’s previous experience includes working as sales manager for an electronic medical records company, working in physician relations for HCA’s Ambulatory Surgery Division, and working as a sales representative for the Ambulatory Diagnostic Division of HealthSouth. 

Kern earned a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Oklahoma, Norman.  An Oklahoma native, he and his wife, Kelly, moved to Nashville in 1997.  With plans to move closer to Gallatin, they currently live in Nashville with their three children.
