SRMC Adds Healthy Recipes, Videos to Web Site
Find Healthy Recipes and How-to-Cook Videos at www.MySumnerMedical.com
Sumner Regional Medical Center has published an online cookbook filled with hundreds of delicious, healthy recipes that can be prepared in under an hour. To find out how to make a Strawberry Shortcake Parfait that has just 1 gram of fat or a low-calorie Meatloaf that is both heart-healthy and diabetic-friendly, all readers have to do is visit www.MySumnerMedical.com and print out a recipe or watch a free online cooking demonstration.
“We are so pleased to be able to offer the residents of the communities we serve with healthy recipes that are both free and easy to follow on our Web site,” said Mary Jo Lewis, CEO of HighPoint Health System and Sumner Regional Medical Center. “This is truly a great resource for those looking to find some delicious and healthy recipes geared toward living a healthier lifestyle.”
The new Health eCooking pages on MySumnerMedical.com features “The Health eCooking Show® videos”featuring celebrity chefs cooking their favorite dishes, sharing cooking tips and demonstrating how to use healthy substitutes. Each video is just a few minutes long and viewers can pause, rewind, or print each recipe.
“For those who are looking for ways to put a healthy spin on traditional family meals, this site will become your new favorite online cookbook,” said SRMC Registered Dietitian Kelly Troutt. “Health eCooking’s online library features traditional family recipes improved by professional chefs and approved by registered dietitians like me. Delicious recipes are available for those who have heart disease, diabetes or wheat allergies.”
New recipes are added every month to the site and are easy to locate. Online viewers just need to click on the “Healthy eCooking” link on the homepage of MySumnerMedical.com to begin browsing and downloading recipes.
